3 Simple Ways to Increase Traffic to Your Website

by Fallbrook Directory Jul 29, 2020

As the digital age continues to change and expand the ways we live life, having a website that is engaging, informative, and eye-catching is key for performing well as a business. However, you don't need to have the fanciest (or most expensive) website in order to stand out from your competitors, increase your website traffic, and ultimately, convert viewers into paying customers.

1. Use the various headers that your website allows.

First things first: make sure you are utilizing all of the styles your website provides by switching up your headers! They don't just look good and help break up the text on your site. In fact, Google and other search engines use the phrases used in your headers as 'search phrases' to cater to what users (aka your ideal customers) are searching for. And don't feel limited by what seems innate: utilize headers to add key phrases, like "Voted the best repair shop in Fallbrook." It's a win-win: your text will stand out better, you're helping to increase search engine optimization (also known as SEO) for your site, and bumping up the style, all at the same time.

2. Utilize your community through backlinks.

What helps your site build credibility, and thus rank higher on search results, is having backlinks. A backlink is the term used to describe what happens when your website is linked on another, credible website. Having your site referred to in other places than your own site helps show search engines (and those who are utilizing them) that your website is a credible source of information, and pushes it higher up the rankings (without having to pay for ad space). Here at the Directory, we offer you a complementary backlink through your listing on our website, which you can then build upon by referring customers to leave reviews on our site. Other ways to add backlinks? Write guest articles, include your confirmation on community write-ups, or on your local Chamber website.

Lastly, but perhaps more importantly, here's how to use the photos on your website to take your traffic results to the next level:

3. Optimize your photos for SEO.

The one mistake you absolutely should not be making with the images you upload onto your site is not titling them correctly! Google reads images just as it does text, so be sure that your image is properly named so that it comes up in natural, human searches ("best dog grooming in Fallbrook" not "IMG_1079"). This step is often overlooked, but is definitely worth the extra step when you are looking to increase your web traffic!
